Patriots' Ball Student Art
The Patriots’ Ball is an exciting community event and the single most essential FUNdraiser of the year for Hamilton. It’s a time for Hamilton Parents, Teachers, Staff and Community to come out for a night of celebration, dancing, drinks, food, AND the thrilling silent and LIVE auctions.
A beloved Patriots’ Ball tradition is the opportunity to showcase some of the amazing talent of our students, highlighting our best in class Fine Arts Department. YOU can bid on and take home a piece of art created by a classroom, a grade or a talented student. Click here to see some past year’s Student Art!
Student Auction Art will be on display at Hamilton Elementary the week of Patriot's’ Ball for all the students to see. The Art Auction will begin in-person at the Patriots’ Ball Gala or on-line through the GiftSmart page.

Guidelines for Student Auction Art
MATERIALS & DIMENSIONS
We encourage unique art, but do ask all intricate tools or equipment in helping create the art work are supervised with an adult when using tools or equipment.
You may find general materials at Michaels Craft Store, Blicks, JoAnn Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Target, or Amazon. For custom canvas and wooden canvas sizes, here are 2 great options- Custom Stretched Canvas or Wooden Canvas.
All Auction Art should be able to fit inside a car or trunk and be carried by one person. Please use your best judgement on what dimensions families/individuals would like to purchase and have displayed in their home or office. If your art exceeds these requests, you can still submit your piece, it will just depend if it can be presented for in-person viewing or if it will only be available for the on-line auction.
Auction Artwork will be available for pickup at Hamilton Elementary the week following Patriots’ Ball. Information regarding pickup will be sent out to all art winners.
ART CONCEPTS & EXAMPLES
Themes and concepts don't need to align with the Gala theme—any and all ideas are welcome!
Room Parents collaborate with their homerooms to select and carry out a unique art project for each classroom or grade. Alternatively, Room Parents can serve as coordinators and assign a volunteer to take the lead on the Student Art project. We’ll provide plenty of support and guidance for those who would like assistance. Click here to explore artwork from previous years!
To ensure students are creating art that is unique, interesting, fun, and most of all something families/individuals will like to purchase and have displayed in their home or office, art concepts have been created by grade below should you need some inspiration.
When reviewing the art concepts below or any inspiration art, keep the following in mind:
Have fun developing your own process to achieve a final outcome which will ensure the art is unique and fun for students to create
Research and select a color palette that elevates the art while ensuring it’s pleasing to the eye- click here for some examples
Explore and expose students to materials they don’t use often at school or have never used before
To help keep costs down while allowing for lots of creativity, consider upcycling materials
Document the process of your class art so we can showcase your slideshow or video in a QR code on your art gallery label and on GiftSmart for online bidding.

DONATION
Traditionally student art is "donated" from the class for the auction. Should you really need support with materials, please contact hamiltonfundraise@gmail.com for reimbursement information.
DEADLINE
The deadline for turning all Auction Art is Friday, February 28th. This date is firm as we will need to photograph all art to ensure it’s available for the on-line auction. Please plan accordingly.
SUBMITTAL/DROP OFF
Drop off instructions will be emailed out to room parents two weeks prior to the submission deadline.
Please wrap/or package your artwork securely. We will be occasionally opening it for pictures, displays, and the event. Overall we want to ensure your Auction Art stores and transports well.
ART GALLERY LABEL
If each student creates an individual piece to contribute to the larger artwork, please be sure to label the back of their work with their name. This will help with photographing and ensure parents know which piece belongs to whom.
